In early 2019 I launched WoMi Small Biz, a weekly Instagram story series shouting out & supporting women & minority entrepreneurs in an effort to capitalize on & encourage shopping with small businesses.
In September 2020, The WoMi App launched in Google play & App stores as the first directory app for (Wo)man & (Mi)nority, or WoMi-owned small businesses.

After conducting user research with both conscious shoppers and brand founders, I created a directory app that prioritized storytelling & curated browsing for consumers, while maintaining ease of signup & enhancing reach for entrepreneurs.

Hitting the streets of Los Angeles, I interviewed local small businesses that were brick & mortars for a series called WoMi SPACES, bridging the gap between online shopping and community building.

STRATEGY + APPROACH:
At its core, WoMi was created to alleviate the barriers of shopping small from consumers’ excuses. Digital strategies included monthly Swap With WoMi challenges, gift guides, founder freebies, and even going live every weekend for a year to prove Every Saturday Is Small Business Saturday.
