In early 2019 I started my first social media content series: WoMi Small Biz, a weekly Instagram story series shouting out & supporting women & minority small brands.

Fast forward to September 2020, The WoMi App launched in Google play & App stores as the first directory app for (Wo)man & (Mi)nority, or WoMi-owned small businesses.

I went live on Instagram every Saturday in 2021 with a new small business in an effort to amplify their unheard founder stories. In March of that year, I hosted an entire virtual conference celebrating womenpreneurs with programming across Zoom, Instagram, & Clubhouse.

Development

STRATEGY + APPROACH:
Prioritizing founder stories & personal interviews, I created a directory app that felt editorial & curated, while taking less than 10 minutes to create a Brand profile.

Together with a Glide expert, I taught myself how to develop a no-code app & launched in App stores in under 6 months.

Website & Deck Design

STRATEGY + APPROACH:
In order to recruit brand signups & funding, I designed modular & scalable systems for pitch decks & shopwithwomi.org.

At its core, WoMi was created to alleviate the barriers of shopping small from consumers’ excuses. Digital strategies included monthly Swap With WoMi challenges, gift guides, founder freebies, and even going live every weekend for a year to prove Every Saturday Is Small Business Saturday.
